It?s a plain and simple truth that you will not have in reality what you cannot first create in your mind. Effective use of the incredible gift of imagination is the key.

Live more powerfully & more significantly ? the journey begins today!PURPOSE is what you?re created for. MISSION is what you?re meant to do about it. VISIONS are the evidence, and GOALS are the means of achievement.
It?s a plain and simple truth that you will not have in reality what you cannot first create in your mind. Effective use of the incredible gift of imagination is the key.
Imagination is the vision birthed by the powerful union of the mind and the emotions.
Webster defines imagination as the act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality; a creative ability. With this in mind, It?s not difficult to see that utilizing this gift can be a worthwhile employment – - if it is harnessed. Einstein understood the power of the gift.
I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. Albert EinsteinIt is not necessary for imagination to run away with us. In fact, there are some very practical ways by which we can bring imagination to a place of serving us, and yet not lose any of its powerful creativity.
1. Schedule time to dream.
Understand that exercising your imagination is worthwhile employment. Make it a priority in your day, whatever it takes. Time is not going to magically appear on your schedule, obliged to free itself to your commitment to create Visions.
You will have to take this bull by the horns and push aside other less important occupations. There are still only 24 hours in a day, but if you make the creation of vibrant dreamscapes a priority, you will include it on your calendar as such.
2. Once scheduled, utilize your Vision sessions to the fullest.
Eliminate distractions. Assign a status of DO NOT DISTURB ? hang out a sign if necessary. And then set aside a location for your sessions. To a degree, formalize the process in order to cement, in your own mind, the importance of the exercise.
Once you are clear in your own mind that giving sway to your imagination is one of the chief means of moving forward in any area where it is employed, others will come to understand that you are not to be disturbed.
3. Be completely present in the process.
Enter into your dreamscape and walk around in it. This concept may seem ridiculous to you at first, but it is one of the most powerful elements of the art of imagining. I urge you not to pass judgment until you have experienced the power of this step.
Take note of the emerging details and you will become more adept at directing your dream time. Use your senses and see, smell, touch and hear what?s going on inside this Vision, the elements of your dream scene. In order for the Vision to manifest in reality, it must first be real to you. A major difference between dreamers and visionaries is the passion to see the dream manifest ? this is a critical step in the process.
4. Reflect on and process the experience.
What did you see, feel and experience that was new or surprising or enlightening to you? Don?t limit the power of the growing Vision by trying to fit it into past knowledge or experience. George Washington Carver had a Vision for revitalizing the economy of the south, a Vision to which he was dedicated. His experiments with the peanut, a crop known for its soil replenishing properties, resulted in over 300 discoveries, including rich jersey milk – from peanuts!Certainly there was little or nothing in Carver?s experience to lead him down this path. But he was open to new ways of thinking throughout his long career as a researcher and educator. Had he not been receptive to the new and unusual, he would not have achieved his unique place in history, nor would we have access to the wealth of his knowledge and the exciting way in which his mind worked.
5. Record the Vision.
Only when each scheduled dream session is complete and you have reflected on and processed your experience, should you carefully record the session. This part of the process will catalog it as a memory with snapshots you can refer to at any time, enabling you not only to access the data, but also serving as the jumping off point for your next scheduled session.
Take the process seriously and before long you will be working on bigger and better Visions. If you truly dedicate yourself to the processPsychology Articles, you will begin to see great things coming to pass in your life in a way you never have thought possible before.

While working on the TV set of BBC1’s new primetime TV series Run For Glory, Adam Eason discovers some interesting phenomena. He then demonstrates how anyone can learn to protect themselves from the negativity of others like he did on the Run For Glory set…

I am writing this article direct from the filming set of a new BBC1 primetime TV series called “Run For Glory.” Run for Glory charts 15 people who have amazingly valiant reasons for wanting to raise money for charity by running the London Marathon.
None of them were runners before this show and they are being trained by UK Olympic gold medallists Steve Cram and Sally Gunnell. I have been filming for one of the Run For Glory shows to help the participants overcome psychological barriers and get in control of their minds with regards to running the marathon and their preparation.
I have found it very interesting to observe the relations between the crew, the producers and the interactions with and in between the participants of the Run for Glory show and how other people really do affect each other and have an impact on each other.
Recently, I wrote about developing rapport without even speaking. Lots of people do this without even being instructed on how to do it. One of the things that I have noticed since I started working within the various fields of personal development is that I am much more aware of other people and how I interact with them.
I have practiced and practiced achieving a really enjoyable sense of rapport with people when I meet them and develop relationships with them. It has been great to observe my own improvements in how I do this and the kind of intuitive and instinctive way that I do this.

When working on the set of this TV show “Run for Glory”, I was chatting to one of the participants who is about to become very famous here in the UK thanks to this show, and they were telling me that at the end of filming each episode of Run for Glory, with everything going really well, they would finish the day feeling drained and verging on being depressed.
I spoke to them for a while and I was not sure about this until I observed all the kinds of interaction that was there in this unusual TV environment filming for Run for Glory the participant was getting excellent results, I mean they are doing so amazingly well, so why were they feeling so low?
I suggested that this person might be picking up other peoples issues, thoughts and feelings. I suggested that maybe they needed to protect themselves from the other Run for Glory participants. She used the technique that I then demonstrated to her and subsequently reported back that she felt amazing, so much better than she was before when she was around these people that were stressed, having great demands placed upon them and facing some very challenging situations in their lives.
When you develop rapport with people and get close to them, you can and often do access some of what they are thinking and feeling. This is not the best when the person you are in rapport with is not in a great or a productive state.
It is like a friend of mine who I joke is a “fun vampire.” Sometimes he is so morose and seemingly depressed when we are out socially that he seems to “suck the life and the fun” out of all the people that he encounters! I know you all know someone like that too.
I tend to find this is particularly important when I am running seminars with people that are making a lot of changes in their lives or if I am working therapeutically with individuals; I want to be sure not to take on board too much of their feelings and way of thinking. So I want to show you some ways of protecting yourself too.
The way I suggest of doing this requires your natural ability to use your imagination and visualise. Now, if you believe you have difficulty visualising or using your imagination, trust me when I tell you that you use your imagination every day. Your imagination is what reminds you what your partner or spouse looks like, what colour your front door is and how your childhood bedroom looked. You do not have to visualising in perfect cinema screen pictures in your mind, just do it in a way that is right for you. This method is just as effective if you visualise the things I ask or if you just pretend to visualise them in your mind.
Firstly, get yourself nice and relaxed. Sit still and take some longer, deeper breaths and then allow your breathing to be natural and become rhythmic and easy. Focus on the moment; be aware of how your body feels in that moment.
Secondly, as you get more relaxed, imagine the relaxation spreading through your body. If you want to, give it a colour or a texture or imagine it as a sensation.
Thirdly, imagine the relaxation, or the sensation of stillness moving out of your body, just a few centimetres. Imagine that you are extending it to become a protective shield that is all around you.
Imagine that it acts as a filter, so only you to take on things that are for your better good and understanding and does not allow you to take on anything that is going to affect you detrimentally.
I don’t know if any of you remember adverts for the oat cereal “Ready Brek”? The people used to have a glow about them when they were going to work if they had eaten their Ready Brek. When I first started protecting myself in this wonderful way, I used to imagine that I had a glow around me that acted like emotional armour and any unwanted thoughts or feelings or even comments of others that I did not want to carry around with me, just bounced off my armour.
Finally, when relaxing tell yourself that this protective shield is there working for you even if you are not consciously aware of it. That way you can be sure that you are not carrying anyone elses vibes around with you and leaves you free to enjoy your experiences for what they really are. Then go ahead and practice this a few times, putting conscious effort into it, imagine making it more powerful with your attention and really getting it strong.
These ideas are just metaphors for protecting yourself, but because your mind and body are one system, they can be extremely effective ways of letting your unconscious know what you want. One of the things that you may begin to notice after you have used this approach a few times and over a prolonged period of time is that you just need to remind yourself of it every now and then, and then it works even better and better. The long term effects of establishing some protection are so very good for you; just as good as finding a good sun screen, that’s for sure. It was so successful with that participant for Run for Glory too.
One of the first things I disocvered when I really looked at the people on the set for Run for Glory was how many people out there make negative or bad suggestions (ie. people who say things which guide attention in less than helpful directions). It is the same in life as on the Run For Glory Set! The number of well-meaning doctors, family members, colleagues and friends that I have heard giving people suggestions for ill health, stress and negativity is truly amazing! If you maintain some good protection for yourself, you can be sure not to allow other peoples negative language, thoughts and feelings to affect you in a way that is not for your better good.
The ability to protect myself from the things going on around me has been instrumental in my latter lifeArticle Submission, being able to block out most unhelpful messages that come my way leaves a very nice state of well-being and it did so too for the participant in Run for Glory.

Your power to choose is an inalienable right that each and every person on earth is given at birth, and has the ability to exercise.

Every minute of every day the worlds population is presented with certain choices that must be made. These choices range from the most obvious, all the way to the extremely complex. In each of these choices being made, there is a specific outcome created that is eventually realized, and which ultimately determines a specific event in any given situation. Are your current choices producing the results you desire for your life?

Your Power To Choose

Your power to choose is an inalienable right that each and every person on earth is given at birth, and has the ability to exercise.

Every minute of every day the worlds population is presented with certain choices that must be made. These choices range from the most obvious, all the way to the extremely complex. In each of these choices being made, there is a specific outcome created that is eventually realized, and which ultimately determines a specific event in any given situation.

These moment by moment choices that are made each day are taken for granted by many, and in many cases are not given much conscious thought as they are being made. These moment by moment choices are many times considered to have no impact on the results or outcomes that people experience, which are created based on those choices.

The most obvious choices made each day include things like what to wear, what we eat, where we work, when we go to bed, what time we wake up, who we associate with, etc. etc.

In these examples, the outcomes of those obvious choices are how we look, what kind of health we?ll experience, how much money we make, how we?ll feel the next morning, and who our friends become.

With each of these obvious choices made, we create a specific outcome based on those choices, and are personally responsible for the outcomes.

What many don?t realize is, just as they are responsible for the outcomes of these obvious day to day choices made, each is equally responsible for the bigger outcomes that happen in life, as a result of the bigger more complex choices made. Put more simply, all results that occur in your life, occur, and are experienced as a direct result of the choices that you have previously made.

Most aren?t even aware that many things that seem to just occur in life, do so not just by chance or fate, but actually happen because of previous choices that they have made. The masses believe that many outcomes experienced throughout life, happen due to circumstances that are beyond their ability to control.

With the exception of death, there is absolutely nothing that happens in your day to day existence that doesn?t happen based on a choice that was made. Even in the case of death, we are each given a choice as to how we choose to feel about it.

Sound ridiculous? It?s Absolutely True.

I have had many throughout the years dispute this concept.

Many will say that they truly desire to create wealth, for example, but claim to be hopelessly stuck in an unfulfilling job that they dislike, because that is all their skill level will allow them to do. They choose to claim the role of victim of circumstance rather than accept the responsibility of their ability to choose to create a different circumstance.

Although the existing condition may be true in the present moment, it was created by choices made in the past, and they have the right and the power to choose to make different choices in the future which would create a different outcome. Although the choices that could change their current situation are many, an obvious choice would be to enhance their level of skill through education, which would enable them to do something else. They also have the power to choose to establish new beliefs that would allow them to do whatever they desire, rather than feel stuck in an occupation that they don?t want to do.

When presented with this idea, they?ll then say something like, ?I don?t have the time to do that?, which is also a choice.

Some will say that they have no control over the condition of their health, many times not realizing the resources available, or making the choice of not taking the time necessary to explore other possibilities which would allow them to develop the belief and awareness that the human body was created as a self healing mechanism, and that regardless of the situation, they do have the choice as well as the ability to correct even illness and disease.

“But the doctor said”……. What the doctor said has absolutely nothing to do with the situation, but only presents the choice to use your power to choose as to which beliefs are established, based on the information received. Many well intentioned doctors are the reason that so many spend years taking unnecessary and harmful pharmaceutical drugs and actually send many people to their graves based on their lack of awareness of the many other possibilities available. Even in this case the patient has the choice to accept or deny the news being shared as truth or not, as well as the power to choose to change the conditions.

It is not the responsibility of the doctor to determine if someone will live or not if he has in good faith done all that he has been trained to do.

There are thousands upon thousands of documented cases where the conventional medical community has diagnosed a condition as terminal and without hope, only to find that the patient, by choosing to not accept the news as belief, lived many years beyond what they were told, and completely reversed the illness or disease diagnosed!

One such case is a man named Lester Levenson who was sent home from the hospital at age 42, with the news that there was nothing further that could be done for him, and was literally sent home to die. He was diagnosed by his medical team as having severe depression, an enlarged liver, kidney stones, spleen trouble, hyperacidity, and ulcers that had perforated his stomach and formed lesions, as well as just having suffered his second coronary.

Mr. Levenson, could have made the choice to believe what he had been told. Instead he made a conscious choice to not accept the bleak diagnosis that he had received. Although he did go home, he refused to accept the information given by someone else, which would have established the belief that would have ended his life. He refused to accept this news as fact and went home, not to die, but made a choice to figure out how to live. Lester Levenson made a conscious choice to research and discover other information that was available, which was contrary to the medical team that was caring for him, and as a result, through totally natural means, restored his body to complete and vibrant health in only 3 months and lived to enjoy an additional 52 years!

Since that time, this discover has been shared with, and has assisted well over 100,000 people from all over the world to overcome many seemingly insurmountable obstacles in every area of their lives.

Each of us has been granted the power to choose. We each possess the power to choose what to believe or not to believe. We each have an inalienable right and undeniable ability to make the choices that will ultimately determine our lives. If your current beliefs aren?t supporting the type of life that you choose to live, you have the ability to choose to form new beliefs that will.

If you choose to believe that you have no control over the things that happen in your life from day to day, your outcomes will continue to manifest exactly as they have, based on that belief. If the beliefs that you have established are based on what someone else has taught you, and you find that those beliefs aren’t serving you, you have the power to choose to find new information which allows you to decide for yourself if that information is correct.

If you are not living the kind of life that you were intended and created to live, and have the right to enjoy, it is within your power to choose to change it.

You have the free will to choose a life of Abundance and Happiness.

Your day to day choices determine your outcomes in life. Whether or not you choose to believe it is also, your choice. It is extremely importantFind Article, if you are to ever experience the life that you deserve and were created to enjoy that you choose wisely.

That too is your choice.

Mental training doesn’t have to be a tedious process. It can be as simple as using a few rules repeatedly.

Mental training isn’t necessarily like physical training. “No pain – no gain” isn’t the way it works. Look, you could practice running faster, or just use a car, and if all you want is to get from here to there, the latter makes more sense. Similarly, brain “exercises” will strengthen the functioning of your brain, or you can just use better tools. That’s what this brain training is about – making habit of using simple tools and techniques.
Mental Training In Simple Rules
Simple rules, used habitually, can enhance your brainpower. For example, if you’re considering investments, you can apply the “rule of 72.” It’s a formula for determining how long it takes to double your money. Divide the rate of return you expect into 72, and the result is the number of years it takes to double your money. If an account pays 6% interest, you divide 72 by 6 and you know that it will take about 12 years to double your money. The rule is based on the compounding of interest, and assumes that you reinvest all interest or investment income.
Real estate investors use simple rules such as “Don’t pay more than 100 times monthly rent for an income property.” This isn’t a replacement for real analysis, but when you train your mind to use such a rule, it speeds up the process. You can eliminate properties selling for 150 times monthly rent, even while an investor with a better brain for numbers is still analylizing them.
Mental Training In Simple Questions
It’s not all about mathematical formulas. Simple questions can also help you more quickly reach the result you want. For example, comedians use such questions unconsciously, and write jokes even more efficiently if they consciously use them.
Suppose a friend mentions that having children gives him a sense of immortality. The comedian’s question, “What’s wrong with this picture?” makes you realize it means dying, so you reply, “I don’t want immortality through my children. I want to immortality by not dying!”
“Mental algorithms” for a comedian might include asking questions like, “What if I take this to the extreme?” “How would this look to a dog?” “Which words in this have double meanings that I can play with?” or “What is the stupidest part of this situation?”
Mental Training In Simple Techniques
Use problem solving techniques enough, and they become a habitual part of your thinking process. For example, try the powerful problem solving technique of challenging assumptions. It’s an especially effective way to bring more effective brainpower to personal issues, where there are so many hidden assumptions.

Suppose your kids are fighting over the television, and you’re tired of it. Perhaps you are assuming the following: 1. You need to have a TV; 2. Fighting over the TV is the problem; 3. The fighting needs to stop; 4. It’s your problem.
The process of challenging these assumptions may suggest the following solutions: 1. Get rid of the TV, or limit it’s use; 2. Deal with the general issue of the kids’ behavior; 3. Leave the room, close the door and let them fight; 4. Tell the kids it’s their problem, and they have a week to come up with a solution, or the TV goes.
Each human activity has it’s own most useful rules and guidelines that you can train your brain to use. Then there are general “life rules” that can help you make better decisions. For example, you might train yourself to ask, “How does this advance me towards my important goals?” and “Is there a better alternative?”
We all have patterns and mental habits in our subconscious minds, but they are not necessarily the best ones, are they? Why not consciously train yourself to use the questions, rulesScience Articles, and patterns of behavior that are most useful? This can start with simple mental training.
