Live more powerfully & more significantly ? the journey begins today!PURPOSE is what you?re created for. MISSION is what you?re meant to do about it. VISIONS are the evidence, and GOALS are the means of achievement.
It?s a plain and simple truth that you will not have in reality what you cannot first create in your mind. Effective use of the incredible gift of imagination is the key.
Imagination is the vision birthed by the powerful union of the mind and the emotions.
Webster defines imagination as the act or power of forming a mental image of something not present to the senses or never before wholly perceived in reality; a creative ability. With this in mind, It?s not difficult to see that utilizing this gift can be a worthwhile employment – - if it is harnessed. Einstein understood the power of the gift.
I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. Albert EinsteinIt is not necessary for imagination to run away with us. In fact, there are some very practical ways by which we can bring imagination to a place of serving us, and yet not lose any of its powerful creativity.
1. Schedule time to dream.
Understand that exercising your imagination is worthwhile employment. Make it a priority in your day, whatever it takes. Time is not going to magically appear on your schedule, obliged to free itself to your commitment to create Visions.
You will have to take this bull by the horns and push aside other less important occupations. There are still only 24 hours in a day, but if you make the creation of vibrant dreamscapes a priority, you will include it on your calendar as such.
2. Once scheduled, utilize your Vision sessions to the fullest.
Eliminate distractions. Assign a status of DO NOT DISTURB ? hang out a sign if necessary. And then set aside a location for your sessions. To a degree, formalize the process in order to cement, in your own mind, the importance of the exercise.
Once you are clear in your own mind that giving sway to your imagination is one of the chief means of moving forward in any area where it is employed, others will come to understand that you are not to be disturbed.
3. Be completely present in the process.
Enter into your dreamscape and walk around in it. This concept may seem ridiculous to you at first, but it is one of the most powerful elements of the art of imagining. I urge you not to pass judgment until you have experienced the power of this step.
Take note of the emerging details and you will become more adept at directing your dream time. Use your senses and see, smell, touch and hear what?s going on inside this Vision, the elements of your dream scene. In order for the Vision to manifest in reality, it must first be real to you. A major difference between dreamers and visionaries is the passion to see the dream manifest ? this is a critical step in the process.
4. Reflect on and process the experience.
What did you see, feel and experience that was new or surprising or enlightening to you? Don?t limit the power of the growing Vision by trying to fit it into past knowledge or experience. George Washington Carver had a Vision for revitalizing the economy of the south, a Vision to which he was dedicated. His experiments with the peanut, a crop known for its soil replenishing properties, resulted in over 300 discoveries, including rich jersey milk – from peanuts!Certainly there was little or nothing in Carver?s experience to lead him down this path. But he was open to new ways of thinking throughout his long career as a researcher and educator. Had he not been receptive to the new and unusual, he would not have achieved his unique place in history, nor would we have access to the wealth of his knowledge and the exciting way in which his mind worked.
5. Record the Vision.
Only when each scheduled dream session is complete and you have reflected on and processed your experience, should you carefully record the session. This part of the process will catalog it as a memory with snapshots you can refer to at any time, enabling you not only to access the data, but also serving as the jumping off point for your next scheduled session.
Take the process seriously and before long you will be working on bigger and better Visions. If you truly dedicate yourself to the process, you will begin to see great things coming to pass in your life in a way you never have thought possible before.

Â

I am writing this article direct from the filming set of a new BBC1 primetime TV series called “Run For Glory.” Run for Glory charts 15 people who have amazingly valiant reasons for wanting to raise money for charity by running the London Marathon.
None of them were runners before this show and they are being trained by UK Olympic gold medallists Steve Cram and Sally Gunnell. I have been filming for one of the Run For Glory shows to help the participants overcome psychological barriers and get in control of their minds with regards to running the marathon and their preparation.
I have found it very interesting to observe the relations between the crew, the producers and the interactions with and in between the participants of the Run for Glory show and how other people really do affect each other and have an impact on each other.
Recently, I wrote about developing rapport without even speaking. Lots of people do this without even being instructed on how to do it. One of the things that I have noticed since I started working within the various fields of personal development is that I am much more aware of other people and how I interact with them.
I have practiced and practiced achieving a really enjoyable sense of rapport with people when I meet them and develop relationships with them. It has been great to observe my own improvements in how I do this and the kind of intuitive and instinctive way that I do this.
Â
When working on the set of this TV show “Run for Glory”, I was chatting to one of the participants who is about to become very famous here in the UK thanks to this show, and they were telling me that at the end of filming each episode of Run for Glory, with everything going really well, they would finish the day feeling drained and verging on being depressed.
I spoke to them for a while and I was not sure about this until I observed all the kinds of interaction that was there in this unusual TV environment filming for Run for Glory the participant was getting excellent results, I mean they are doing so amazingly well, so why were they feeling so low?
I suggested that this person might be picking up other peoples issues, thoughts and feelings. I suggested that maybe they needed to protect themselves from the other Run for Glory participants. She used the technique that I then demonstrated to her and subsequently reported back that she felt amazing, so much better than she was before when she was around these people that were stressed, having great demands placed upon them and facing some very challenging situations in their lives.
When you develop rapport with people and get close to them, you can and often do access some of what they are thinking and feeling. This is not the best when the person you are in rapport with is not in a great or a productive state.
It is like a friend of mine who I joke is a “fun vampire.” Sometimes he is so morose and seemingly depressed when we are out socially that he seems to “suck the life and the fun” out of all the people that he encounters! I know you all know someone like that too.
I tend to find this is particularly important when I am running seminars with people that are making a lot of changes in their lives or if I am working therapeutically with individuals; I want to be sure not to take on board too much of their feelings and way of thinking. So I want to show you some ways of protecting yourself too.
The way I suggest of doing this requires your natural ability to use your imagination and visualise. Now, if you believe you have difficulty visualising or using your imagination, trust me when I tell you that you use your imagination every day. Your imagination is what reminds you what your partner or spouse looks like, what colour your front door is and how your childhood bedroom looked. You do not have to visualising in perfect cinema screen pictures in your mind, just do it in a way that is right for you. This method is just as effective if you visualise the things I ask or if you just pretend to visualise them in your mind.
Firstly, get yourself nice and relaxed. Sit still and take some longer, deeper breaths and then allow your breathing to be natural and become rhythmic and easy. Focus on the moment; be aware of how your body feels in that moment.
Secondly, as you get more relaxed, imagine the relaxation spreading through your body. If you want to, give it a colour or a texture or imagine it as a sensation.
Thirdly, imagine the relaxation, or the sensation of stillness moving out of your body, just a few centimetres. Imagine that you are extending it to become a protective shield that is all around you.
Imagine that it acts as a filter, so only you to take on things that are for your better good and understanding and does not allow you to take on anything that is going to affect you detrimentally.
I don’t know if any of you remember adverts for the oat cereal “Ready Brek”? The people used to have a glow about them when they were going to work if they had eaten their Ready Brek. When I first started protecting myself in this wonderful way, I used to imagine that I had a glow around me that acted like emotional armour and any unwanted thoughts or feelings or even comments of others that I did not want to carry around with me, just bounced off my armour.
Finally, when relaxing tell yourself that this protective shield is there working for you even if you are not consciously aware of it. That way you can be sure that you are not carrying anyone elses vibes around with you and leaves you free to enjoy your experiences for what they really are. Then go ahead and practice this a few times, putting conscious effort into it, imagine making it more powerful with your attention and really getting it strong.
These ideas are just metaphors for protecting yourself, but because your mind and body are one system, they can be extremely effective ways of letting your unconscious know what you want. One of the things that you may begin to notice after you have used this approach a few times and over a prolonged period of time is that you just need to remind yourself of it every now and then, and then it works even better and better. The long term effects of establishing some protection are so very good for you; just as good as finding a good sun screen, that’s for sure. It was so successful with that participant for Run for Glory too.
One of the first things I disocvered when I really looked at the people on the set for Run for Glory was how many people out there make negative or bad suggestions (ie. people who say things which guide attention in less than helpful directions). It is the same in life as on the Run For Glory Set! The number of well-meaning doctors, family members, colleagues and friends that I have heard giving people suggestions for ill health, stress and negativity is truly amazing! If you maintain some good protection for yourself, you can be sure not to allow other peoples negative language, thoughts and feelings to affect you in a way that is not for your better good.
The ability to protect myself from the things going on around me has been instrumental in my latter life, being able to block out most unhelpful messages that come my way leaves a very nice state of well-being and it did so too for the participant in Run for Glory.

Â

Your Power To Choose

Your power to choose is an inalienable right that each and every person on earth is given at birth, and has the ability to exercise.

Every minute of every day the worlds population is presented with certain choices that must be made. These choices range from the most obvious, all the way to the extremely complex. In each of these choices being made, there is a specific outcome created that is eventually realized, and which ultimately determines a specific event in any given situation.

These moment by moment choices that are made each day are taken for granted by many, and in many cases are not given much conscious thought as they are being made. These moment by moment choices are many times considered to have no impact on the results or outcomes that people experience, which are created based on those choices.

The most obvious choices made each day include things like what to wear, what we eat, where we work, when we go to bed, what time we wake up, who we associate with, etc. etc.

In these examples, the outcomes of those obvious choices are how we look, what kind of health we?ll experience, how much money we make, how we?ll feel the next morning, and who our friends become.

With each of these obvious choices made, we create a specific outcome based on those choices, and are personally responsible for the outcomes.

What many don?t realize is, just as they are responsible for the outcomes of these obvious day to day choices made, each is equally responsible for the bigger outcomes that happen in life, as a result of the bigger more complex choices made. Put more simply, all results that occur in your life, occur, and are experienced as a direct result of the choices that you have previously made.

Most aren?t even aware that many things that seem to just occur in life, do so not just by chance or fate, but actually happen because of previous choices that they have made. The masses believe that many outcomes experienced throughout life, happen due to circumstances that are beyond their ability to control.

With the exception of death, there is absolutely nothing that happens in your day to day existence that doesn?t happen based on a choice that was made. Even in the case of death, we are each given a choice as to how we choose to feel about it.

Sound ridiculous? It?s Absolutely True.

I have had many throughout the years dispute this concept.

Many will say that they truly desire to create wealth, for example, but claim to be hopelessly stuck in an unfulfilling job that they dislike, because that is all their skill level will allow them to do. They choose to claim the role of victim of circumstance rather than accept the responsibility of their ability to choose to create a different circumstance.

Although the existing condition may be true in the present moment, it was created by choices made in the past, and they have the right and the power to choose to make different choices in the future which would create a different outcome. Although the choices that could change their current situation are many, an obvious choice would be to enhance their level of skill through education, which would enable them to do something else. They also have the power to choose to establish new beliefs that would allow them to do whatever they desire, rather than feel stuck in an occupation that they don?t want to do.

When presented with this idea, they?ll then say something like, ?I don?t have the time to do that?, which is also a choice.

Some will say that they have no control over the condition of their health, many times not realizing the resources available, or making the choice of not taking the time necessary to explore other possibilities which would allow them to develop the belief and awareness that the human body was created as a self healing mechanism, and that regardless of the situation, they do have the choice as well as the ability to correct even illness and disease.

“But the doctor said”……. What the doctor said has absolutely nothing to do with the situation, but only presents the choice to use your power to choose as to which beliefs are established, based on the information received. Many well intentioned doctors are the reason that so many spend years taking unnecessary and harmful pharmaceutical drugs and actually send many people to their graves based on their lack of awareness of the many other possibilities available. Even in this case the patient has the choice to accept or deny the news being shared as truth or not, as well as the power to choose to change the conditions.

It is not the responsibility of the doctor to determine if someone will live or not if he has in good faith done all that he has been trained to do.

There are thousands upon thousands of documented cases where the conventional medical community has diagnosed a condition as terminal and without hope, only to find that the patient, by choosing to not accept the news as belief, lived many years beyond what they were told, and completely reversed the illness or disease diagnosed!

One such case is a man named Lester Levenson who was sent home from the hospital at age 42, with the news that there was nothing further that could be done for him, and was literally sent home to die. He was diagnosed by his medical team as having severe depression, an enlarged liver, kidney stones, spleen trouble, hyperacidity, and ulcers that had perforated his stomach and formed lesions, as well as just having suffered his second coronary.

Mr. Levenson, could have made the choice to believe what he had been told. Instead he made a conscious choice to not accept the bleak diagnosis that he had received. Although he did go home, he refused to accept the information given by someone else, which would have established the belief that would have ended his life. He refused to accept this news as fact and went home, not to die, but made a choice to figure out how to live. Lester Levenson made a conscious choice to research and discover other information that was available, which was contrary to the medical team that was caring for him, and as a result, through totally natural means, restored his body to complete and vibrant health in only 3 months and lived to enjoy an additional 52 years!

Since that time, this discover has been shared with, and has assisted well over 100,000 people from all over the world to overcome many seemingly insurmountable obstacles in every area of their lives. Â

Each of us has been granted the power to choose. We each possess the power to choose what to believe or not to believe. We each have an inalienable right and undeniable ability to make the choices that will ultimately determine our lives. If your current beliefs aren?t supporting the type of life that you choose to live, you have the ability to choose to form new beliefs that will.

If you choose to believe that you have no control over the things that happen in your life from day to day, your outcomes will continue to manifest exactly as they have, based on that belief. If the beliefs that you have established are based on what someone else has taught you, and you find that those beliefs aren’t serving you, you have the power to choose to find new information which allows you to decide for yourself if that information is correct.

If you are not living the kind of life that you were intended and created to live, and have the right to enjoy, it is within your power to choose to change it.

You have the free will to choose a life of Abundance and Happiness.

Your day to day choices determine your outcomes in life. Whether or not you choose to believe it is also, your choice. It is extremely important, if you are to ever experience the life that you deserve and were created to enjoy that you choose wisely.

That too is your choice.

Â

Mental training isn’t necessarily like physical training. “No pain – no gain” isn’t the way it works. Look, you could practice running faster, or just use a car, and if all you want is to get from here to there, the latter makes more sense. Similarly, brain “exercises” will strengthen the functioning of your brain, or you can just use better tools. That’s what this brain training is about – making habit of using simple tools and techniques.
Mental Training In Simple Rules
Simple rules, used habitually, can enhance your brainpower. For example, if you’re considering investments, you can apply the “rule of 72.” It’s a formula for determining how long it takes to double your money. Divide the rate of return you expect into 72, and the result is the number of years it takes to double your money. If an account pays 6% interest, you divide 72 by 6 and you know that it will take about 12 years to double your money. The rule is based on the compounding of interest, and assumes that you reinvest all interest or investment income.
Real estate investors use simple rules such as “Don’t pay more than 100 times monthly rent for an income property.” This isn’t a replacement for real analysis, but when you train your mind to use such a rule, it speeds up the process. You can eliminate properties selling for 150 times monthly rent, even while an investor with a better brain for numbers is still analylizing them.
Mental Training In Simple Questions
It’s not all about mathematical formulas. Simple questions can also help you more quickly reach the result you want. For example, comedians use such questions unconsciously, and write jokes even more efficiently if they consciously use them.
Suppose a friend mentions that having children gives him a sense of immortality. The comedian’s question, “What’s wrong with this picture?” makes you realize it means dying, so you reply, “I don’t want immortality through my children. I want to immortality by not dying!”
“Mental algorithms” for a comedian might include asking questions like, “What if I take this to the extreme?” “How would this look to a dog?” “Which words in this have double meanings that I can play with?” or “What is the stupidest part of this situation?”
Mental Training In Simple Techniques
Use problem solving techniques enough, and they become a habitual part of your thinking process. For example, try the powerful problem solving technique of challenging assumptions. It’s an especially effective way to bring more effective brainpower to personal issues, where there are so many hidden assumptions.
Â
Suppose your kids are fighting over the television, and you’re tired of it. Perhaps you are assuming the following: 1. You need to have a TV; 2. Fighting over the TV is the problem; 3. The fighting needs to stop; 4. It’s your problem.
The process of challenging these assumptions may suggest the following solutions: 1. Get rid of the TV, or limit it’s use; 2. Deal with the general issue of the kids’ behavior; 3. Leave the room, close the door and let them fight; 4. Tell the kids it’s their problem, and they have a week to come up with a solution, or the TV goes.
Each human activity has it’s own most useful rules and guidelines that you can train your brain to use. Then there are general “life rules” that can help you make better decisions. For example, you might train yourself to ask, “How does this advance me towards my important goals?” and “Is there a better alternative?”
We all have patterns and mental habits in our subconscious minds, but they are not necessarily the best ones, are they? Why not consciously train yourself to use the questions, rules, and patterns of behavior that are most useful? This can start with simple mental training.

Â

What’s the biggest problem with memory tricks? Remembering to use them, of course. There are many memory techniques that work well, but you’ll forget them when you need them most – unless you make using them a habit. So when you take the time to learn a technique, use it until it becomes automatic. Here are some to try.
Using a Story-List
I went to a party as a child. There was a game that involved looking at a table covered in 15 various items. After a few minutes, we were taken to another room, and each child was given paper and a pencil. We had to write down as many items as we could remember. I recalled seven or eight, but one boy won the prize by remembering all 15 items.
Years later I learned why he won. His father taught him a simple trick that none of us other kids knew. The technique is to tie the items together in an imaginative story. For example, what if you want to remember a list of the following things: Soap, milk, honey, fork, and flowers.
Start a vivid story in your imagination, adding each item to it as you go: At the sink, you reach for the SOAP. The soap dish is full of MILK, so you wash your hands in that. Then you comb HONEY into your hair with a FORK, and finally pick up a bouquet of FLOWERS and smile at the mirror. Say each item while mentally reviewing your “movie,” and you’ll remember all five things, even the next day.
Some Other Memory Tricks
Tell yourself to remember. When you learn a person’s name, for example, tell yourself, “remember that”. This signals your unconscious mind to rank this input as more important.
Know WHY you want to remember something, and HOW you’ll remember it. To remember a person, for example, ask why they’ll be important to you in the future, imagine where you’ll see them next, and connect that to anything you notice about them. Seeing the importance of remembering really helps, and additional associations (where you expect to see the person next) set the memory more firmly in your brain.
Do you ever forget where you put your car keys? You’ve probably tried retracing your steps, at least doing it in your imagination. This can work well, but even better is to prevent the forgetting beforehand. When you set the keys on the chair, see yourself walking in and setting the keys on the chair. You won’t forget where they are.
There are many more of these memory tricks. If you want them to be useful, though, don’t just read about them. Make a memory technique or two into a habit, starting today.

Â

Nearly every day I hear someone say something along the lines of ?Why does life have to be so hard? or ?Why can?t I ever get a break? and sometimes even ?Why does everything happen to me.?

It seems that the majority of people in our world these days seem to struggle from day to day in one area or another in their lives.

Most believe that they are just a victim of circumstance and that they have no control over these seeming difficult situations. The majority believe that it is simply by fate or chance that they must endure these unpleasant and uncomfortable situations and circumstances, and that there is absolutely nothing that they are capable of doing that will change them.

This reasoning, as legitimate as it may seem, couldn?t be further from the truth. The fact is that whatever may be happening in ones life is happening because that is exactly what the individual is causing to happen on either a conscious or subconscious level.

Sound crazy? Many think it does, but it doesn?t mean that it isn?t the truth. It is the absolute truth.

Everything that manifests in our world must begin as a seed whether it be humans, plants, animals, illness, or disease. It is absolutely impossible for anything in the universe to exist without starting from something.

So what does that have to do with your thoughts, whether they be conscious or subconscious? Allow me to explain. The human mind is made up of two components. The conscious mind and the subconscious mind. Your conscious mind is the rational portion of your mind and it establishes it?s beliefs based on the 5 physical senses of hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch. The information that is gained from these senses is sent to the brain, which is the physical tool of the mind, and then combined with an emotion which in turn establishes a belief.

Each and every belief you currently have or that you have held in the past, concerning anything, at one point was established through your conscious thought process and has been stored in your subconscious mind as fact. When the rational conscious mind comes upon any situation, it accesses the data storehouse of the subconscious to assist it in making a determination regarding an event, situation or circumstance, that it previously stored there, and makes a choice as to how it will react to the circumstance based on that information.

The subconscious cannot differentiate between what is true or false, good or bad, right or wrong. It has no reasoning ability whatsoever. It has no way of knowing what the conscious is giving to it. The only functions that the subconscious has the capability of is?

#1) Accepting and storing whatever data has been sent to it, whether it be true or false, by the rational thinking conscious mind.

#2) Going to work to manifest the data that it was given, and bring it into physical being through the law of attraction.

Each thought that is created and each belief that is established acts as the seed. If the thing that you want creates conflict in your subconscious based on an old belief, negative energy is created and the seed can only produce negative results. If the conscious and subconscious are in harmony regarding the thing wanted, positive energy is created and only positive things can be produced.

When a firm belief is established at some point in life (usually in the childhood years) and then later in life that belief is challenged, it creates conflict, between the conscious and the subconscious which in turn creates negative energy which then attracts additional negative energy to it, and actually creates those very things that you consciously claim that you don?t want to happen.

In other words, if you consciously want something, whether it be money, relationships, etc. and aren?t receiving it, you have a subconscious belief that is contrary to what you consciously claim that you want and it is that belief that is keeping whatever it is from being realized in the physical world, and in many cases creating exactly the opposite of what it is that you want.

Although this isn?t knowledge that is held and accepted by the majority, it has been scientifically proven through quantum physics and has actually been known and shared by spiritual teachers for thousands of years. What many used to call un-provable nonsense is now actually being discovered and proven by modern day science.

So how can you overcome this conflict and begin producing only the desired results? By releasing the old negative emotions that have been stored in the subconscious and guarding what you allow to be stored in it in the future. Become conscious of what you allow the subconscious to absorb and begin the habit of feeding it only the information that will serve your needs.

Begin each day by absorbing some positive information from some source and eliminate the constant negativity that is continually shared through people, TV, newspapers, etc.

It is this constant bombardment of negativity that plays a huge role in shaping your thoughts, both conscious and subconscious, and it is those thoughts that determine your life.

Whether or not you choose to believe it…..Â

Â

What exactly is Lateral thinking? For starters, it’s a word invented by Edward DeBono in 1967. At some point since then it became a part of the English language (it is in the Oxford English Dictionary and most others now). DeBono, on his official web site, says there are several ways to define it.
Lateral thinking is a way of attacking problems from other angles, as opposed to the more traditional linear and logical ways. Debono uses chess as an example of where logic normally suffices, if the pieces are a given. Lateral thinking, however, acknowledges that in real life we mostly just assume the pieces are given, when really we need to change those pieces or look beyond them for the most useful solutions.
Lateral Thinking Puzzles
Enough with the definitions. Here are a few lateral thinking puzzles instead. These will give you a good feel for what the term means, and let you practice this “out of the box” kind of thinking.
Two Coins
Bill is on a raft in the ocean with several other survivors of a shipwreck. The others are too weak, so he or Mike must swim to a nearby island to look for help. It’s almost certainly suicidal, due to the circling sharks, but there is little else to hope for. Mike takes the lose change from his pocket and puts two pennies in a hat. He tells John that one is a 2005 penny, and the other 1975. If Bill picks the newer penny he can stay on the raft, and Mike will risk his life. If John picks the older penny, he must go. Bill has seen that both pennies were actually dated 1975, but he doesn’t want to say anything, because Mike is a big guy. How does he win, and get Mike to go, without exposing him as a fraud in front of the others?
The Speech
A well-known politician wrote a long speech. How did it help his career even before he gave the speech?
The Convent
John came to visit at a convent while the superior mother was out of town. He left before she returned, and was careful to leave nothing behind. The nuns said nothing about his visit, so how did the superior mother figure out that a man had been there?
Switching On Your Lateral Thinking
You are shown three switches outside a closed room. There are three lamps inside the room. You can flip the switches on and off as much as you want while the door remains closed, but then you must enter just once and determine quickly which switch is connected to which lamp. How can you do it?
Solutions To The Lateral Thinking Puzzles
Two Coins: Bill reaches into the hat and takes out either penny. He lets it slip out of his hand and fall into the ocean. Apologizing, he suggests that if the remaining penny in the hat is the 1975 one, he must have drawn the 2005 penny. Mike cannot argue with the logic unless he wants to admit to lying. Since the others won’t tolerate a liar anyhow, he makes the swim.
The Speech: A true story solution: In 1912, President Teddy Roosevelt was shot in the chest. The folded-up manuscript of his speech was in his breast pocket, and slowed the bullet, saving his life, and so helping his career.
The Convent: John left a toilet seat up.
Switching On Your Lateral Thinking: Turn on the first one on for a minute, then turn it off and turn the second on. Enter the room and feel the two bulbs that are off. The warm one was turned on by the first switch, the light that is on is connected to the second, and the other to the third.

If you want to learn the true art of mind power then it is of the greatest importance you understand 2 functions of your mind, and also how they interact with each other?

You only possess one mind, but it has 2 totally different functions – and the names generally used to distinguish these 2 different functions are as follows.

1, The Conscious Mind
2, The Subconscious Mind

There are many other terms used. But the 2 listed above, are the ones used most to represent the 2 main functions of your mind.

To help us better understand the conscious and subconscious mind, they may be compared to a tree and its roots?

? You?re conscious mind being the tree, which helps you with daily situations like, decision-making, rational thinking, or just simply figuring out what to do and how best to do it.

When we think of ?me? we think of our conscious mind, the mind of which we are fully aware. This part of the mind makes decisions for us and directs our activities; it also analyzes, criticises and even commands us.

? You?re subconscious mind being the roots; it deals mostly with the repetitions of learned behaviour. This can be very helpful for you, as it enables you to deal with situations much more easily the next time they arise.

Whatever we see, hear, smell, taste, touch or feel passes through the conscious mind and reaches the subconscious mind where it is stored.

Once you have learned how best to deal with the situation you find it much easier the next time around? this is because you are using information which is already stored.

For instance, once you have learned to ride a bike you don?t have to consciously think about it anymore. This is because the stored information will come to you automatically the next time you get on your bike to ride it.

Just as if you were to learn where each letter on your keyboard is – you can now type without looking because you have formed a mental picture in your subconscious mind, of what the keyboard actually looks like.

The above are only two instances (of how the subconscious mind stores up relations of learned behaviour) and we are sure you would be able to find many more examples of this in your everyday life!

Information from the conscious mind gets past into the subconscious mind, and there is a very strong link between the two. It is said that everything you have ever seen, heard and experienced is perceived by your conscious mind, and then stored away into your subconscious mind as a memory.

Not only is this memory stored as the incident itself, but also any feelings which went with it at the time are also stored.

Your subconscious mind does not only store your memories and feelings. It is the maker of all the great ideas you have ever had, and is also the seat of your intuition and creativeness?

Your subconscious also keeps you going without you even being aware of it. It takes care of your bodily functions ? your heart beat, and automatically runs such activities as, movement, language, visual perception and a whole host of other processes of your mind and body for you.

It also scans your mind for conflict and distress; assesses your environment for danger and threats, and relays and interprets perceptions, sensations, and feeling? last but not least it is also the storehouse of all your experience and decisions ? everything which makes you the person you are.

Â

When I ask for guidance, I receive it. Sometimes I receive it in unexpected ways, but I always receive it.
Some people hear voices if they?re clairaudient. Other people see pictures or symbols if they?re clairvoyant. Still others are clairsentient and simply have a knowingness or a strong feeling. One woman I know has a strong sense of smell that guides her. The truth is that all of our senses are tuned in to receive higher channels of wisdom and knowledge, and our bodies are perfect receptors.Â
We may also receive guidance from synchronicities in our lives ? those chance coincidences that aren?t really coincidences at all. It?s my general rule of thumb to pay attention and take action if I hear or see anything 3 times. If the guidance is strong, I take immediate action.
The question is: Are you asking for help and guidance? Are you expecting to receive it and then paying attention? When you receive guidance, do you act on it or do you ignore it out of the fear and doubt habit?
As we quiet the chatter in our minds and relax into the certainty that the guidance, clarity, and direction we desire is present, we are in a receptive state. When we receive the guidance and have the faith to act on it, we are affirming to the Universe that we are paying attention. The more we listen, the more we respond, the more we receive. The more grateful we are for the guidance we receive, the quicker the clarity comes.
Like any muscle, the more you use it, the stronger it gets, and the more confident you become in your ability. The more you know you have a direct connection with higher wisdom, the more calmly, confidently, joyfully, and successfully you can move forward in your life.Â
If you?re new to this practice, here are some techniques I suggest to begin:Â
1. Sit in a quiet place with your eyes closed and begin to breathe deeply. If any thoughts of the outside world come into your mind, just allow them to drift and float away and refocus on your breathing.Â
2. Become clear on what you choose: perfect health, money, love, or help with a specific dilemma. Remember, nothing is too small and anything that is distracting you from living a life of love and joy is significant. Say silently something like this: ?I ask for your help with this situation. Please give me the clarity, direction, and guidance that I need so that I may be the person I came here to be. My mind and my life are full and busy, and I?m new at this, so please make the guidance really clear and bring it to me in a way that I absolutely will recognize it. Thank you.?
3. When you are complete, hold the thought that your guidance ? the answer you requested ? is coming to you in a wonderful way. Before you go to sleep at night, repeat the process.Â
4. It?s often helpful, too, to write out your request on a piece of paper and put it underneath your pillow. As you drift off to sleep, allow yourself to focus on the thought that the entire Universe is working on your behalf to bring you the perfect answer to your request, and that you are ready, willing, and able to receive.
5. As you move throughout the day, expect the answers to come and pay attention. When you receive the guidance you?ve requested, take action immediately even if it doesn?t make sense at first. Then, become grateful for the guidance you?ve received and celebrate how wonderful it is that the Universe cares about your every need and desire.
You are a precious being with great gifts to share, fully supported by the Universe to live a life that is rich, wonderful, joyful, loving and FUN! You are in this wonderful playground of life, and these resources are here for you to use to help you create the life you love to live with great ease and flow.
Most of all, remember that YOU DESERVE IT!

Â

Does your mind sometimes feel like a television station you can’t quite tune in? You know there’s an interesting program on – or several, but everything is mixed with static. What if you could “tune in” at will, have clear thinking whenever you want it? Try some of the following.
Ten Clear Thinking Techniques And Tips
1. Take a walk. Science will eventually prove this to be a great way to improve the quality of your thinking, but don’t wait for the proof. Aren’t there enough other reasons to take a walk anyhow?
2. Stay away from sugar. If you want to understand what brain fog is, eat a sugary donut on an empty stomach, then do math problems twenty minutes later. What you will experience, along with the “sugar blues,” is brain fog. At least lay off sugar and simple carbohydrates when you need to think clearly.
3. Organized space means clear thinking. It’s rare that a person can actually work better in clutter. Organised working space means you won’t have the thought “where is that…” distracting your mind.
4. Get better sleep. Sleep requirements vary, but the minimum for most is somewhere around five hours. Some suffer if they sleep less than eight hours. The research, however, indicates that after a certain minimum quantity, the quality of sleep is more important to normal brain function.
5. Try meditating. No time? Just close your eyes, relax, and watch your breath for a while. Accept that your mind will wander, but continually return your attention to your breath. Five minutes of this, and afterwards you’ll feel a boost in your brainpower.
6. Resolve your “mind irritations.” Watch your busy brain. Maybe a call you need to make has been bothering you, just below consciousness. Find these stressors, and do something to let them go. For example, make that call, or put it on a list, and your mind will let go of it for now. Just seeing a problem and saying, “There’s nothing I can do about this until Friday,” will often stop unconscious worrying.
7. Don’t drink alcohol. At least don’t drink too much. While moderate amounts can be conducive to creative thinking, all the evidence says that it is bad for the long-term health of your brain.
8. Make decisions quickly. Nothing gets in the way of clear thinking like a dozen decisions hanging around unmade. If nothing else, decide when you’ll make the decision.
9. Get some fresh air. Go outside and breath deeply through your nose. You’ll get a good dose of oxtgen to your brain, and the change of surroundings can help clear your mind.
10. Satisfy your physical needs. Clear thinking is easier if you aren’t too hungry, thirsty, or hot.
You can think more clearly starting today. There are certainly more than ten ways, but you really only need to make a few of them a habit to have a more powerful brain. Why not try one or two right now?
